hello world,
happy new year #2024 ! it’s 17 days into the new year and i’ve forgotten all of my resolutions except one, to eat well. like everyone with unsupervised internet access in 2014, food has almost always either been my best friend or my enemy. i’m turning 22 in 3 weeks and i need to publicly say that i LOVE food! eating well to me is being intentional. fueling myself with various nutrients, and making and eating dishes that i truly enjoy. less restrictions and more experimentation.
i hosted my first dinner party last saturday and i was brought to tears by all of the overwhelming love surrounding me. i truly love making food for people and seeing everyone i love in the same space sharing just made my year. i’m fortunate to have good people around me; we get to show up, unabashedly with our hearts bared open and we love love love each other.
“I love you. I want us both to eat well”

i was so caught up in having a blast i forgot to take more pics hahaha, but PLEASE LOOK AT THAT SPREAD!
for starters, i prepared two charcuterie boards (one for my vegetarian babes), they had assorted crackers, brie, boursin, fruits, trail mix, salami, and my homemade jam. i also did spicy deviled eggs.
for the main dishes, i made a white pesto lasagne, cheesy garlic mashed potatoes, and some well-seasoned charred broccoli.
and dessert, my banana bread topped with cinnamon!
+ everything else pictured was brought by my friends!
i was nervous about a relatively meatless dinner, but everything held up on its own and paired nicely with each other. who knows? this may be my soft launch into becoming a vegetarian!
recently i’ve been thinking of hosting more dinner parties, maybe monthly? i LOVE hosting.
